The purpose of this blog is to document the ground-up building of a custom Home Theatre PC.
Good aesthetics, plenty of storage and high-definition media playback are the main aims of the project.
I intend to cover hardware, particularly cooling and quiet operation, an in-depth look at the machine’s construction, and the software setup. As a Linux engineer by profession I will be using open source software wherever possible, probably a Red Hat derivative on the OS side and I’ll be trying out different front end applications for a pleasant and easy to use media centre.
